The Lore
Genesis
In the beginning was none but Lupus. The benevolent creation of the greater Universe.

She, alongside man's own God, made the canid race; a crude and embryonic form for what was to come. These vestigial beings, The First Civilisation as they are today known, walked on two-legs as She did, and bore an uncanny resemblance to the werewolves of modern mythology, lacking crucial communicative structures and the ability to reason, even with their deity.

Lupus gave these creatures everything their hearts desired, everything they could ever need to thrive and evolve into something other than themselves, and in time, they considered themselves above even Lupus.

Once Her work on the first mortals was done; the eternal mother rested, and soon birthed two sons; the eldest, Tenebris, forged of darkness itself, whose presence blanketed the Earth in shadow, and brought with it a chill as cold, merciless and indiscriminate as his own heart, while the second, Lux, was molded from pure light, radiating a warmth which would encourage the mortals out into the world to bask and play, and the work of Lupus to flourish.

This new world was not without its problems. For millennia; the brothers quarrelled for their dam's affections, finally daring to declare that She loved the mortals more than them, and thus doing all in their limited power to try and 'win' her over, unaware of the danger of imbalance that came with their particular talents.

From Tenebris; ice ages and months of seemingly endless darkness at a time, resulting in an overall decrease in the various populations, forcing the need for new adaptations to be made in a vital effort to combat the cold, and thus the mortals grew coarse, lucious coats covering the entirety of their bodies. Whilst Lux created barren wastelands in the process of showering the Earth in his 'affection', drying up water supplies and scorching the land until there was nothing but barren wastes and volcanic eruptions.
Angered by the actions of Her own sons, Lupus formed a caldera at the heart of the Earth, threatening to destroy all which had been made if they could not reach an agreement, for not even deities could shirk their responsibilities.

And so it was decided that each son claimed a quarter of the year to rule over as they saw fit, Lux taking the Summer, and Tenebris the Winter. Their problems, however, were not yet fixed.

Whilst Lupus gave life, She could not take it away, leaving the mortals to obtain a great age and spread across the globe as their numbers began to go unrestrained, draining resource after resource and caring little for their now dying homeworld. And thus, Lupus was left with but one choice; using her mighty claws to cut across the Universe, She crafted the Goddess of Death; Mercy, whose sole job was to preside over the Earth, deciding the fate of every beast and plant individually at the end of their lifespan, taking away those who believed themselves Gods, and prematurely ending lives whose souls Lupus had other plans for.
Only a select few were chosen to live beyond this age.

The mortals did not appreciate their kin perishing in what they believed was an unjust approach, wholly believing they had done no wrong, and prayed to Lupus to force Mercy stop her cull, alas, it was a prayer which could no longer be answered. It was the only way to save their dying planet.
One wolf in particular, Sina, the First Wolf, and Lupus' favourite creation, resented Her for this choice, and eventually waged war on the Goddess resulting in his eternal damnation.

As punishment for the uprising; Lupus wiped out all mortal life on Earth and began anew, forcing the new breed to move as a quadruped; mundane and undeserving of the same privileges shown to The First Civilisation. Hands became paws, and their friendships with mankind severed.

The wolves were truly on their own.

Until now...

Lupus
The Gods
Appearance:
A long furred being of a solid grey colour with the slender body of a human female, but the head of a wolf. Her true eye colour is unknown as it tends to shift dependant on the reason She makes Her presence known.
Alignment:
Neutral in all aspects. She is the creator of life, but will not hesitate to punish Her creations for their misdeeds, whether whilst on Earth or when they come to meet Her at the end of their incarnation.

Origin:
The exact origin of Lupus is as mysterious as Her nature. Humans are often heard speaking of Her as the child of their own invention, but Wolves tell the tale of a dying star, in which; from the last rays of light it ever breathed, birthed the divine spirit of creation. To the wolves who believe; there is no being higher than Lupus.

Season of Power: Spring
Lux & Tenebris
Appearance:
Tenebris-
A dark, deep purple hued wolf with very limited white, his eyes are always resemblant of the colours of the night sky, and his canines are elongated when in his 'true' form.

Lux-
A vibrant coated wolf of red and gold whose eyes are always a shade of amber or blue, sometimes both! Like his brother, his canines become elongated when in his 'true' form.

Alignment:
Lux-
While Lux is typically depicted as being warm and friendly, it doesn't mean he cannot sometimes be hot tempered at times. His attitude depends solely on his brother, as balance must be maintained at all costs.

Tenebris-
Typically cold and cruel, but that isn't to say he can't be comforting and even relaxing to some, his attitude often depends on the mortals on Earth, and how his little brother behaves.

Origin:
Both the sons of Lupus, one created from the black void that is the universe, the other born when a star grew far too hot. They are known as the princes of Summer and Winter respectively.

Season of Power: Summer (Lux) and Winter (Tenebris)
Mercy
Appearance:
None are truly certain as to what Mercy looks like as her fur is rumoured to be transparent, containing images of the entire life of whichever soul she is currently passing judgement over. However, Lupus once explained to Sina that the Goddess of Death tended to look 'a little bloody' when she was resting.

Alignment:
A completely hostile, ruthless and (ironically) merciless female. It is her job to be cruel to Lupus' other creations, ferrying souls to the Heavens, if ever she should spare an undeserving mortal, or begin to converse with with living; she would premeditate her own destruction.

Origin:
Crafted by Lupus' own claws from a veil of darkness.

Season of Power: Autumn
